Sleep Week

Proposed medical partner, Johns Hopkins Sleep Medicine

Built on serious sleep medicine.

A sleep program with roots in the mid-1970s. Sleep Week proposes protocol design and expert review informed by that body of practice.

Capabilities

Five areas that shape the protocol.

Insomnia and CBT-I

Behavioral sleep medicine supports patients with insomnia who may benefit from cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia.

  • Structured behavioral assessment
  • Sleep scheduling and stimulus control
  • Cognitive strategies for bedtime arousal
  • Referral to formal CBT-I where clinically appropriate

Obstructive sleep apnea

Evaluation of sleep-disordered breathing, including overnight testing and positive-airway-pressure titration.

  • Overnight polysomnography
  • Positive-airway-pressure titration
  • Portable sleep monitoring
  • Sleep Week screens only, it does not diagnose apnea

Circadian rhythm disorders

Assessment of delayed and advanced sleep phase patterns, shift work and travel-related misalignment.

  • Chronotype assessment
  • Timed light strategies
  • Schedule stabilization
  • Shift-work and jet-lag planning

Hypersomnia and narcolepsy

Evaluation of excessive daytime sleepiness, including daytime sleepiness testing.

  • Epworth Sleepiness Scale
  • Daytime sleepiness testing
  • Escalation for suspected narcolepsy
  • Safety-sensitive occupation review

Parasomnias and movement disorders

Assessment of parasomnias and sleep-related movement disorders such as restless legs syndrome.

  • History and symptom characterization
  • Movement signal review
  • Medication contribution review
  • Referral for formal evaluation when indicated

Clinical guardrails

What Sleep Week is, and is not.

Sleep Week is designed to identify patterns, screen for possible concerns and support better sleep behavior. It is not an emergency service and does not replace a full diagnostic sleep study or continuing medical care.

Referral resources

Where to go when a program is not the answer.

Medical emergency

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number. Do not use this site or any AI interface for emergency symptoms.

Mental-health crisis (US)

Call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

Formal sleep evaluation

Screening findings that suggest a possible sleep disorder are referred to an accredited sleep center or your own physician for formal diagnostic evaluation.

Sleep Week does not claim to cure insomnia, guarantee better sleep, diagnose all sleep disorders or replace a sleep study. Statements about the proposed collaboration are proposals, not approvals.
